We are searching for a talented communications professional to advance Ecolibrium3’s mission of building a sustainable and equitable community by communicating our multifaceted work in clear and compelling ways. The successful candidate must possess superb written and verbal communication skills, technical expertise in multimedia creation, and have in-depth knowledge of evolving communication strategy. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and an organized work style. The person in this position will work closely with all members of the staff to help further each program’s communication goals, as well as overall organizational goals.

-You have a degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field, or a combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities of the position.
-You have multiple years of experience in communications or related fields, ideally in the nonprofit sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Organizational Program Development and Management
-Lead the development, implementation and prioritization of the communication strategies necessary to achieve organizational and program goals.
-Understand communication trends and develop effective ways of communicating the organizational story.
-Understand public perception of Ecolibrium3 and lead communication strategy development to position the organization and help us accomplish our mission.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of organizational communication through stats and follower feedback.
-Maintain the organization’s branding, style guide, design guide, and editing standards.
-Keep abreast of communications from allies and supporters and help build our allies and supporters.
-Design strategies and communications that are mindful of and actively promote sustainable practices, inclusion, equity, wellness, and accessibility.
-Revise our communications plan as needed to address current best practices, realities, and strategies.
-Manage communication tasks and editorial calendars in our task management software.
-Develop materials for events and assist in event implementation.
-Assist in creation of crisis communications plans.
-Supervise AmeriCorps VISTA member(s).

Program Communications
-Train staff in communications philosophy, procedures, style guides, etc.
-Work with program staff members (energy, neighborhood, food access, VISTA, fundraising) to communicate their work, including assisting in developing communications plans, content creation, design, and evaluation.
-Provide tools to assist program staff in effectively communicating with diverse audiences.

Content Development and Engagement Management
-Write newsletter articles, press releases, social media content, and fundraising materials.
-Create and design multi-media content including graphics, social media posts, videos, and ads.
-Ensure communications content meets best practices for accessibility.
-Monitor social media for relevant information from allies and supporters.
-Manage social media engagement.
-Take photos and videos and manage organizational storage of multimedia content.
-Set up events, sign-up forms, newsletters, mailing lists, etc. in our CRM software.
-Keep the website up to date, redesigning it as needed.
-Develop earned media opportunities, build relationships with members of the media, and maintain the organizational media contact list.
-Maintain an archive of communications materials and media stories.

General Duties
-Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with colleagues, other organizations and agencies, and the general public.
-Perform other duties as required.
-Each of our staff roles evolve as organizational needs change. The responsibilities of this job will therefore evolve over time in conversation with the employee.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $53,000-65,000, depending on experience.

As a place-based community organization, our work is in person. Accordingly, this is a full-time (40 hours per week), in-person position. Our normal work hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend commitments. We offer 10 employee-directed remote working days a year, 10 paid holidays, and 19 days of PTO, increasing over years of employment.

At this time Ecolibrium3 does not currently offer a health care plan. Instead, our pay scale is set to accommodate employees purchasing their own plans. Eligibility for company retirement benefits of 3% company contribution and 2% match of employee contributions will occur after three months of employment.
