RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide critical support for compliance with funding requirements for Community Benefits Plans (CBP) by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices and regulatory developments.
  • Organize and lead the drafting process of the CBP, collaborating with internal subject matter experts to ensure comprehensive and accurate coverage.
  • Develop required SMART goals and milestones for stakeholder engagement, creating, and managing the CBP budget, and planning and supporting CBP activities to facilitate stakeholder participation and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers to incorporate community and stakeholder feedback into project design and delivery.
  • Develop detailed funding compliance reports and monitoring budget adherence

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Candidates completing their degree by December 31, 2024 will be considered
    • Degree in Business administration, communications, journalism, political science, or a related field preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • No experience required.
    • Experience in project management, customer service and public/community engagement preferred.
    • Prior experience writing grants and proposals preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement based on ALLETE’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee’s position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee’s home office. This position will report to Duluth, MN
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated successful experience with project/event management and working with community leaders.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours and travel within the Company’s service territory and where assets are located to attend community events, local government meetings, etc.
  • Very strong interpersonal and communications skills are critical.
  • Public speaking experience is required.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
