Duluth & St. Louis County at the Capitol

Advocacy for Northeastern Minnesota Priorities

We are Stronger Together: Be part of the collective voice helping represent Northeastern Minnesota and our regional business community.

Please join us for Duluth and St. Louis County Days at the Capitol February 12 and 13 as we advocate for several key legislative priorities for our community and region during the 2025 legislative session.

2025 Legislative Priorities

The 2025 legislative priorities include several key areas that will positively impact the region, including housing, economic development, childcare, workforce development, support for the 148th Fighter Wing, key projects for the City of Duluth and St. Louis County, and several important bonding and policy related requests for our membership throughout the region.

These regional projects and funding requests will be detailed within the 2025 Legislative Priorities Booklet. This booklet will be mailed to Minnesota legislators, distributed at the Duluth & St. Louis County at the Capitol events, and available digitally. View last year’s legislative priorities booklet.

What is Duluth & St. Louis County at the Capitol?

In its 28th year, Duluth and St. Louis County at the Capitol Days is the largest regional advocacy event in the state. The Duluth Area Chamber and Duluth Area Chamber Foundation are once again collaborating with the City of Duluth and St. Louis County, along with a record number of key community stakeholders and sponsors, to bring the voice of Northeastern Minnesota to elected officials at the state level. Together with a unified voice, advocacy efforts generated by this event aim to attract funding for regional projects, tell the stories of our challenges and opportunities, celebrate our accomplishments, and illustrate how Duluth and St. Louis County seek legislative support this year.

We had record attendance at the event last year, with over 500 guests attending the Grand Reception. 2025 is poised to be our biggest and best year yet. Throughout the first day, key stakeholders will meet with legislators from all over Minnesota to discuss priorities in NE MN. That evening, legislators and their staff join the contingency at the main event, an informal reception designed to promote continual dialogue. As a result of this event, lawmakers at the Capitol hear about our region’s legislative initiatives directly from those directly involved. On the morning of February 13, the formal event concludes with a legislative breakfast where we’ll hear directly from city, county and Chamber leaders, along with senior members of our local state delegation.
