or the past 21 months, the Chamber has been your unwavering, spirited advocate. We have represented your interests as we have appealed for balance and reasonableness within the Duluth City Council’s march toward implementing a Mandatory Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) Ordinance.
Our efforts appear to be having a positive impact. Yesterday, city councilors shared the first draft of the City’s ESST Ordinance. It contains modifications which are moving towards those that have been proposed by the Chamber’s leadership. Click here to view the ESST draft ordinance.
Yet, your voice still needs to be heard. The council will soon consider the final changes to the proposed ordinance. There are precious few remaining opportunities for your input. These opportunities include:
- Community Listening Session: Monday, February 26, at 5:45 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3rd Floor
- City Council Meeting, Monday, March 12, at 7:00 p.m., Council Chambers of City Hall, 3rd Floor (Initial Reading of the Ordinance).
Let’s finish strong. To do so, we need you to join us at these gatherings. Have your voice heard at this time of decision-making.
In support and in solidarity,
David Ross, President & CEO
